Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager/Product Owner to lead enterprise AI initiatives and serve as a key liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders. This individual will build upon the team’s established Agile foundation by representing the AI team in meetings, translating business needs into actionable plans, and driving projects from discovery through adoption. The role does not require deep technical expertise but does require strong business acumen, leadership, and a genuine interest in AI.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted representative and advocate for the Enterprise AI team across business and technology functions.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand business processes, challenges, objectives, and potential opportunities for AI.
  • Lead discovery sessions, workshops, and stakeholder meetings to define use cases and establish clear desired outcomes.
  • Translate high-level or loosely defined requests into project scopes, requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery plans.
  • Own and prioritize product backlogs based on business value, technical feasibility, dependencies, risk, and team capacity.
  • Lead AI initiatives through discovery, planning, development, testing, rollout, training, and adoption.
  • Create and deliver polished presentations, proposals, business cases, project updates, and executive-level communications.
  • Build stakeholder alignment and manage expectations regarding scope, timelines, priorities, AI capabilities, and data requirements.
  • Partner closely with AI engineers, developers, data professionals, architects, business analysts, and subject-matter experts.
  • Maintain clear visibility into project progress, ownership, risks, dependencies, decisions, and next steps.
  • Proactively identify roadblocks and shifting priorities, facilitate decisions, and hold project participants accountable for commitments.
  • Support Agile ceremonies such as backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and prioritization sessions.
  • Coordinate multiple concurrent initiatives while ensuring the team remains focused on the highest-value work.
  • Support solution testing and quality assurance by validating requirements and coordinating stakeholder feedback.
  • Lead project demonstrations, training sessions, rollout communications, and post-launch feedback efforts.
  • Help refine the AI team’s delivery processes, stakeholder-engagement model, and approach to evaluating new opportunities.
  • Stay informed about emerging AI capabilities and help stakeholders understand their practical business applications and limitations.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in project management, product ownership, business analysis, technology consulting, business operations, or a comparable stakeholder-facing role.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional technology or digital-transformation initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder-management skills and the confidence to independently lead meetings with business and technology leaders.
  • Experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into defined priorities, user stories, project plans, and measurable outcomes.
  • Working knowledge of Agile and Scrum practices, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, prioritization, and iterative delivery.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to quickly understand processes across different organizational functions.
  • Highly organized and proactive, with the ability to manage competing priorities without losing accountability or follow-through.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, asking challenging questions, and bringing structure to early-stage ideas.
  • Tech-savvy and genuinely interested in artificial intelligence, automation, and emerging technologies.
  • Experience creating polished presentations and communicating recommendations to leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting AI, machine learning, generative AI, automation, analytics, data, or software-development initiatives.
  • Familiarity with AI solutions such as copilots, chatbots, semantic search, intelligent document processing, or retrieval-augmented generation.
  • Experience evaluating and prioritizing technology use cases based on business value, feasibility, risk, and organizational readiness.
  • Experience working within a large enterprise and coordinating initiatives across multiple business units.
  • Background in energy, oil and gas, industrial operations, or another complex enterprise environment.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Jira, or a similar project and backlog-management platform.
  • Experience with change management, process improvement, training, or product adoption.
  • PMP, CSPO, Scrum Master, or a comparable certification is a plus.

Ideal Candidate

  • Polished, proactive leader who can independently guide stakeholder conversations
  • Able to bring structure and clarity to ambiguous requests
  • Drives clear decisions, accountability, and next steps
  • Engaging, organized, and confident in working across the organization
  • Comfortable challenging unclear or competing priorities while maintaining strong relationships
  • Genuinely curious about AI and able to become a credible ambassador for the team
