Job description

The Temporary Accounting Manager will oversee a team of more than 20 accounting professionals during a 6-12 month assignment. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of all Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) financial transactions, including Housing Assistance Payments, subsidy drawdowns, HUD reporting, and program budget monitoring. The manager will lead financial reporting, budget management, and process improvements while coordinating audit activities and maintaining stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial reporting and budget management for HCV programs
  • Supervise and lead a team of over 20 accounting professionals
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
  • Reconcile accounts and monitor cash flow
  • Coordinate audit activities and support audit management
  • Implement accounting policies and improve related processes
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding financial matters
  • Maintain accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in all financial transactions

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years in accounting management
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA certification
