As the Staff Accountant at tru fru, you will support the day-to-day accounting operations of a fast-growing consumer brand. You will assist with general ledger functions, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting, contributing to the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. What you'll do
- Assist in the preparation of internal financial statements, including variance analysis and summaries of financial highlights, in coordination with the Finance team and for distribution to senior management.
- Prepare and record journal entries for balance sheet and P&L accounts, ensuring proper supporting documentation is obtained for all entries.
- Support the periodic review of balance sheet accounts across the company, flagging significant findings to management.
- Assist with year-end responsibilities including financial statement consolidation, reconciliation of equity accounts, and various analytics.
- Support the submission of business unit results to the parent company financial reporting system, including mapping and reconciliation of results across multiple systems.
- Participate in the preparation and collection of information required for internal and external audits.
- Prepare ad hoc analyses and provide general accounting support to the Finance and Accounting team as needed.
- Stay current on emerging accounting issues and support the team in analyzing their impact on the company's financial position.

You have...
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Financial Management.
- 1-3 years of experience in an accounting role.
- Working knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, with the ability to use these tools to create efficiencies.
- Experience with financial accounting software and reporting tools.
- Strong analytical skills and excellent written and verbal communication
Pluses
- CPA or actively pursuing CPA licensure.
- Experience in a consumer packaged goods company.
- Auditing experience.
