About the Role

Cloud5 Accounting is looking for a Senior Bookkeeper to provide virtual accounting and bookkeeping services to small-business clients. This is a 100% remote position for candidates located in Utah, with flexible scheduling and a minimum commitment of 25 hours per week. Candidates interested in working up to 40 hours per week are welcome.

You will manage the day-to-day accounting needs of approximately 15–30 small-business clients, primarily using QuickBooks Online. You will take ownership of client accounts, maintain accurate financial records, prepare financial reports, communicate with clients, and serve as a trusted accounting resource.

What You'll Do
  • Manage daily and monthly accounting processes for approximately 15–30 clients
  • Categorize and organize financial transactions in QuickBooks Online
  • Reconcile bank, credit card, and other balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare and review monthly financial reports
  • Communicate financial results and relevant insights to clients
  • Reconcile payroll-related transactions using payroll reports
  • Process client bills through Bill.com, when applicable
  • Research and resolve transaction questions with clients
  • Communicate with clients primarily through email and Zoom
  • Maintain clear and accurate notes and records regarding client needs
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiency

What You Won't Be Doing

This role focuses on client accounting and bookkeeping rather than tax or audit work. You will not be responsible for tax preparation, in-house payroll processing, or auditing. All client meetings are conducted virtually; there are no in-person client meetings.
