Job description

Accounts Payable Specialist We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join a fast-paced accounting team. This role is responsible for processing a large volume of invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments, maintaining vendor relationships, and supporting month-end close activities. The ideal candidate thrives in a high-volume environment, possesses strong organizational skills, and can manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy. This position is temp to hire and will pay between $24 and $28/hr. Responsibilities
  • Process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and efficiently on a daily basis.
  • Review invoices for proper approvals, coding, and supporting documentation.
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents while resolving discrepancies.
  • Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, wire transfers, and other payment methods.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and investigate outstanding balances or payment issues.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status, invoice discrepancies, and account reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate vendor records, including tax documentation and banking information.
  • Monitor accounts payable aging and ensure timely payment of obligations.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals and account reconciliations.
  • Support audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit requests.
  • Collaborate with purchasing, operations, and internal stakeholders to resolve invoice and payment issues.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency within the accounts payable function.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of accounts payable experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Experience processing large invoice volumes with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and accounting software.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including sorting, filtering, and basic formulas.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative team approach.
