Job description


Our client is a respected electrical construction organization supporting complex utility and infrastructure projects where accurate estimating directly contributes to successful project delivery. This role is part of a skilled team responsible for developing competitive, well-supported estimates across electrical distribution, transmission, and substation work. The Electrical Estimator will help turn project requirements and field information into clear, actionable construction pricing and planning.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop estimates for underground and overhead electrical distribution, transmission, and substation construction projects from initial scope through final bid review.

· Analyze bid documents, construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements to establish accurate quantities, pricing, and scope.

· Perform pre-bid site investigations and jobsite/field walks to validate existing conditions, access requirements, installation considerations, and project scope.

· Obtain, organize, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing while coordinating material quote requests and subcontractor submittals.

· Support project teams with change order preparation, resource planning, construction documentation, contract administration, and project cost tracking.

Qualifications

· Experience with electrical construction estimating and construction cost estimating.

· Strong background in labor, material, and equipment estimating, including detailed takeoffs.

· Knowledge of project budget development, construction budgeting, and bid preparation practices.

· Ability to develop manpower resource schedules and support overall construction scheduling.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, or comparable scheduling and estimating applications.

· Experience using Sage Timberline Estimating or similar estimating software.

· Understanding of electrical construction methods, materials, and field installation practices.

· Ability to interpret project documentation and communicate estimating information effectively with project management and field teams.
