Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Housing Program Coordinator will work together with a small team to assist families experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness in qualifying for and receiving temporary housing assistance through the use of TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) funding, Utah Valley Home Consortium Home-ARP (American Rescue Plan) funding, Utah Office of Homeless Services (OHS) funding, and other support funds.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
  • Collaborate with a team consisting of a Team Lead and another Housing Program Coordinator to assist families through assessing needs, qualifying for, and receiving housing support through the use of various local, state, and federal support funds.
  • Assist with determining eligibility for families to qualify for housing support funds.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community housing providers, landlords, and partner agencies.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to housing providers as they become qualified to participate in funding-supported housing programs.
  • Ensure proper paperwork and documentation are completed and qualifications are met for both housing providers and families receiving support funds.
  • Under the direction of the Deputy Director and Team Lead, assist with developing and implementing strategic goals to provide housing support for families designated under grant-funded programs.
  • Assist with preparing quarterly and annual reports regarding program progress and outcomes.
  • Maintain organized and confidential case files for families assigned to the Housing Program Coordinator.
  • Coordinate communication with clients, landlords, housing providers, and community partners as needed.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate program records, data tracking, and digital reporting.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able and willing to travel occasionally to meet clients within Utah, Summit, Wasatch, Iron, Beaver, and Washington counties.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management, administrative, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, community groups, housing providers, and related agencies.
  • Knowledge of basic computer applications and digital reporting systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain attention to detail, work independently, and collaborate effectively within a small team environment.
  • Ability to collect, organize, and analyze data related to housing programs and client services.
  • Professional, welcoming, and service-oriented demeanor and attitude.
  • Two (2+) years of experience in social services, housing programs, community services, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English required.
OTHER INFORMATION:

Bachelor's Degree in a related field is strongly preferred.

Applicants must successfully pass a federal fingerprint and background screening.
