The Brunswick County Detention Center is charged with the goal of aiding public safety by providing detention services for persons charged with or convicted of various criminal and civil offenses, as ordered by the court. The Detention Center operates under the authority of the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office and is under the direction of the Detention Center Command staff.
