Job Title: Senior Database Administrator (DBA) - Microsoft SQL Server

Location: Bethlehem, PA (on-site)

Job Description:

Seeking a self-motivated, highly experienced Senior SQL Server Database Administrator to join our team in Bethlehem, PA. This role is on-site in Bethlehem, PA. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server and a proven track record of managing and optimizing large-scale clustered database environments. You will be available as needed 24x7 to ensure proper operation of our high-volume transactional systems. This role requires in-depth knowledge of database management best practices, ensuring SQL server health across dozens of servers, in both on premise and cloud environments. You will use SQL monitoring tools to ensure that our servers are monitored proactively, avoiding, and proactively resolving challenges such as low drive space, blocking, high CPU usage, and other performance impacting issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, document, and maintain complex database systems using Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Ensure the availability, performance, and security of databases.
  • Experience performing SQL indexing on large scale databases.
  • Perform database capacity planning, tuning, and optimization.
  • Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies.
  • Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Collaborate with development teams to design and optimize database schemas.
  • Implement and maintain database security policies.
  • Conduct regular database audits and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior DBAs and other team members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
