Data Center Rack Assembly Technician

Location: North Houston, TX
Pay: $18.00–$22.00/hour
Duration: Approximately 2 Months – Temporary Project

Job Description

We are hiring Data Center Rack Assembly Technicians for an approximately 2-month project at a data center in North Houston, Texas.

This is a temporary, project-based position expected to last approximately 2 months.

This is a hands-on role focused on the mechanical assembly, preparation, and installation of equipment racks and cabinets. Technicians will use hand and power tools to prepare cabinets, install racks and hardware, verify alignment, and ensure completed assemblies meet project specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and install equipment racks inside designated cabinets.
  • Install insulation within cabinet areas according to specifications.
  • Prepare bolt holes, mounting points, and mounting surfaces for installation.
  • Position, align, and secure racks within cabinets.
  • Install and tighten bolts, brackets, fasteners, and other mounting hardware.
  • Use drills, impact drivers, sockets, wrenches, and other common hand and power tools.
  • Verify proper rack alignment, positioning, and fitment.
  • Perform visual and basic quality-control inspections.
  • Correct assembly issues and complete punch-list items.
  • Follow drawings, work instructions, specifications, and safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience with rack installation, cabinet assembly, mechanical assembly, data center installation, manufacturing, construction, or similar hands-on work preferred.
  • Experience using common hand and power tools.
  • Ability to install and secure racks, bolts, brackets, and mechanical hardware.
  • Ability to follow drawings, measurements, and assembly instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Comfortable performing repetitive, hands-on mechanical work.
  • Reliable transportation to the North Houston jobsite.
  • Must be comfortable committing to an approximately 2-month project.

Pay: $18.00–$22.00/hour based on experience.
