Tooling Engineer (Injection Molding) - PSC2625  

Job Type: Full-time/ Permanent Hire 

Compensation: $35 - 55/hour (DOE) + Benefits 

Schedule: Monday - Friday / 1st shifts / O.T available 

We have another leading manufacturer in the Injection molding industry that is in need of a Tooling Engineer dedicated to delivering high-quality products via driving their innovative manufacturing processes. As a Plastic Injection Molding Tooling Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and maintenance of injection molding tooling systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of tooling projects, from concept through production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop injection molding tooling systems, including molds, dies, and fixtures, using CAD/CAM software.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and engineering analyses to assess tooling requirements and propose cost-effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with product design and manufacturing teams to optimize part designs for manufacturability and ensure tooling specifications meet production requirements.
  • Perform tooling trials and validations, analyzing results to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Troubleshoot tooling issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to manufacturing personnel during tooling setup, operation, and maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of tooling designs, modifications, and maintenance activities.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends related to plastic injection molding tooling.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required. 
  • Prior experience operating EDM, lathes, CNC, grinders, or other auxiliary equipment for tooling/mold construction is required. 
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in plastic injection molding tooling design & engineering is required.  
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software, such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools. Experience with mold flow analysis software is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of plastic materials, injection molding processes, and tooling design principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
