Who We Are

Uson, a business unit of PAC, is the premiere global provider of leak testing equipment and solutions for the medical device, automotive, electric vehicle, industrial and packaging industries. Since 1963 Uson has taken the leak testing technology we first developed for NASA and applied it to a wide range of automated industrial assembly applications.

Your Role

The Production Technician’s main responsibility is to design, assemble, calibrate, test, and audit Uson leak test products. Ensuring that the products are manufactured in accordance with the specifications, drawings, and procedures for each product, on time and within budget. This is a planned temporary to permanent position, dependent upon performance and business needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, Build, Calibrate, Test and Audit Uson leak test products per specifications and procedures for each product within the budgeted hours.
  • Verify conformance to product specifications, application protocols, and audit document outcomes.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting to resolve issues on production floor and provide feedback for continuous improvement of products and processes.
  • Maintain100% accurate and timely documentation on job hours, BOM/parts used, production data et cetera.
  • Ensure appropriate calibrated instruments and tools are used consistently.
  • Adhere to ISO-9001 and any other applicable quality policies and procedures.
  • Comply with Environment Health and Safety (EHS) regulations, quality, and compliance policies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized production area.
  • Meet or exceed set goals and objectives for department and organization.
  • Continuously learn and receive training on new Uson products and technology.
  • Work diligently and efficiently, keeping in mind quality practices consistently.
  • Keep a cooperative attitude with team members, leaders, and co-workers.
  • Work overtime, weekends, and holidays, per business needs.
  • Travel to Uson customer sites when/if required.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualification:

  • High school education or higher, technical or associate degree preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of hand tools and usage.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a manufacturing and/or assembly environment
  • PLC experience preferred
  • Thorough understanding of assembly, electronic, and pneumatic parts.
  • Proficient in soldering, soldering certificate preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in reading and understanding engineering drawings and pneumatic schematics.
  • Working knowledge of ISO policies and work instructions.
  • Thorough understanding of 5S concepts and ability to maintain it in work cell.
  • Strong Interpersonal skills to include but not limited to, solid oral and written communication.
  • Motivated to learn new tasks.
  • Ability to use Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to use computer proficiently
  • Ability to identify and escalate problems.
  • Detail oriented with the ability and drive to follow up on outstanding tasks.
  • Great level of reliability and accountability, as many functions of the role are subject to stringent or changing deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

  • Daily, may require the ability to stoop; to reach; to stand, to walk and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Push and/or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds; to lift and carry objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • This position may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Use finger dexterity to operate a computer and other office equipment and hand strength to grasp files and other objects, manipulate and utilize hand tools.
  • Ability to hear and verbally exchange ideas and information with the public, staff and others on the phone and in the office.
  • May require the ability to climb stairs, to kneel and/or crouch to retrieve equipment and other items.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

Essential duties of this classification are primarily performed in a climate-controlled manufacturing environment that may include frequent interruptions and a high level of contact with staff, other members of management, customers, and off-site employees/locations.

5% - Light - May require travel to customer sites on an as needed basis.
