About the roleGain the trial experience you have always wanted-you will be assigned cases in all levels of court for a variety of misdemeanor and felony cases. Our mentorship program pairs new attorneys with experienced trial attorneys and provides the resources you need to succeed. We value continuing education and pay for your CLE training every year. Duties also include serving as "Duty Attorney" and responding to calls and questions from citizens, police officers and defense attorneys on a rotating basis, attending relevant trainings, ride-along with law enforcement and engaging in service to connect with the community we serve.
PreferencesPosition requires Juris Doctorate degree and 2 years of related experience. Some experience as a criminal prosecutor or criminal defense is preferred, but not required. We seek a candidate that works cooperatively with the police departments in our jurisdiction, can manage a large caseload, has a zealous work ethic and proven ability to work with a team. A successful candidate must have a strong interest in advocating for the community's best interest in a variety of cases.
Special Requirements
Must be a member of the Virginia State Bar in good standing.

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $100,000.00
Summary of Benefits:
Prince William County Government offers medical plans with corresponding pharmacy and basic vision coverage, as well as dental plans and a separate vision plan.
Full-time and part-time Prince William County Government employees are eligible to participate in our plans; however, the level and cost of benefits depends on the classification of the position.
