What is a Temp CDL?

A Temp CDL, or Temporary Commercial Driver’s License, is a provisional license that allows individuals to operate commercial motor vehicles for a limited period of time. It is typically issued to new drivers who have passed the necessary written exams but are awaiting completion of the skills or road test. The Temp CDL enables drivers to gain supervised driving experience before obtaining a full CDL. The requirements and validity period for a Temp CDL vary by state, so it's important to check your local DMV regulations. This license is often used by employers to help new hires start working while they complete the full licensing process.

Is 40 too old to get CDL?

There is no age limit for obtaining a Commercial Driver's License (CDL), and many individuals successfully start trucking careers at age 40 or older. As long as you meet the physical and driving record requirements, age should not prevent you from pursuing a CDL and working as a commercial driver.

Does Walmart offer $110,000 salary to new drivers?

Walmart does not typically offer new CDL drivers a salary of $110,000. Entry-level truck driving positions generally start with lower pay, and salaries can increase with experience, route complexity, and additional certifications. It is advisable to review specific job postings for accurate compensation details.
