Position Overview

As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the administrative and technical aspects of constructing a project. Do you have strong interpersonal and information management skills? You will be managing a team of field and cost engineers. In this role, you will be the main conduit of information between the construction manager and the team for cost, revenue, and cash flow information. Do you have strong mentorship skills? Kiewit's Southeast District specializes in heavy civil, transportation and water resource markets, and has played a significant role in building infrastructure throughout the fast-growing southeastern United States. Since the 1970s, we have built projects from Maryland to Florida and west to Louisiana. Responsibilities
  • Manage scheduling of the project: Oversee the creation, maintenance, and monitoring of the project schedule to ensure timely execution.
  • Revenue, cost, and cash flow management: Track and manage project financials to meet revenue targets, control costs, and maintain healthy cash flow.
  • Engineering of temporary structures: Provide technical oversight for the design and review of temporary works required for construction.
  • Quality control: Coordinate and verify compliance with project requirements.
  • Project closeout: Lead the completion of final documentation, deliverables, and approvals needed to close out the project.
  • Client relations: Maintain strong communication and relationships with the client to support project success and address concerns.Assist in Operations planning: Support the development of project execution strategies, resource planning, and operational workflows.
  • Administer contracts and subcontracts: Manage contract execution, compliance, and changes for subcontractors and vendors.
  • Training and development of field engineers: Mentor and guide field engineers to support skill growth and successful project performance.
  • Manage project progress and productivity: Monitor field progress and workforce productivity to ensure the project meets performance goals and stays on schedule.

Qualifications

   Ability to travel and relocate as needed 
   Undergraduate degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or equivalent 
   5+ years' work experience in construction or engineering 
   Experience managing engineers 
   Ability to read, analyze, and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents 
   Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative 
   Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time 
   Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity 
   Passion for safety, with a commitment to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt 
   Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills 
   Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives 
   Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
