What is a telephone call center?

Telephone call centers are centralized offices where specially trained staff handle incoming and outgoing customer communications primarily over the phone. These centers assist with customer service, technical support, sales, and information requests for various organizations. Call centers use specialized technology to manage large volumes of calls efficiently and often operate with scripts and performance metrics to ensure quality service. They can be located on-site, outsourced to third-party providers, or even staffed with remote workers.
