Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med-Surg Telemetry RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years acute care experience and an active IN or compact RN license.

Details
  • Med-Surg Telemetry unit with 24 beds
  • Patient ratio of 6:1
  • Mixed diagnoses among patient population
  • EMR: Epic
  • Utilizes IV/PCA pumps, wound vac, and glucometer equipment
  • Skills involved include trach care, feeding tubes, CPAP, wound vac management, and dialysis assessment
  • RN reads telemetry, no titration required
  • Supported by CRN, discharge nurse, and weekday pharmacists
  • Night shift schedule: 6:45pm-7:15am
  • 3 shifts per week, 12 hours per shift, totaling 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend required
Requirements
  • Active RN license (IN or compact) required
  • BLS and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care inpatient RN experience required
  • Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
  • Epic EMR experience required
Additional Information
  • Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Provides patient and family education throughout stay and at discharge
  • Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff and serves as mentor/preceptor
  • Participates in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives
  • Complies with regulatory standards and practice governance model
