We are seeking a(an)  Medical Transport Manager for our team to be an innovator. HCA Healthcare partners with Harvard Pilgrim Institute and the CDC to use our data from more than 26 million patient encounters each year to impact the industry. Come build your career with us!

The Manager will lead a team of clinicians, effectively problem-solve, and communicate with HCA hospitals, medical staff, administrators, department heads, and nursing teams under the guidance of the Medical Transportation Leadership team. This role is integral to driving team performance, fostering collaboration, and working closely with Medical Transport leadership to optimize service delivery, support volume growth, and enhance the overall experience for HCA customers.

Job Summary and Qualifications
  •  Provide leadership, management and administration of all aspects of the interfacility medical transport department in order to ensure organizational mission and objectives are met
  •  Develop relationships and processes that will enhance access to HCA facilities, services, physicians, and health care professionals
  •  Hire and maintain appropriate staffing levels and utilization of personnel and ensure the highest quality of professional skill
  •  Provide a structured means for policy and procedure development through regularly scheduled staff meetings allowing for continual evaluation, review, and update of standards, functions, goals, and objectives
  •  Provides recommendations for outreach activities/initiatives and is involved in applicable outreach committees
  •  Attend HCA Corporate Medical Transportation meetings and training
  •  Promote HCA culture of excellence and quality service through teamwork, respectful communication, maintenance of a professional environment, partnership with those we serve, and anticipation of patient and customer needs
  •  Manage capital/operational budget, strategic planning, customer relations, marketing, and outreach activities of the Medical Transportation team within the Patient Logistics Center
  •  Manage and collaborate with facility and division leaders, all activities, changes and stakeholder relationships related to medical transportation
  •  Consult with HCA Corporate and Division legal advisors on the interpretation and enforcement relevant regulations and laws pertinent to department functions
  •  In conjunction with the Med Transport AVP, collect, correlate, analyze, and interpret operational, financial, and statistical data. Inform and advise appropriate members of the HCA Senior Management team of potential business opportunities
  •  Assists with development of new programs/services
  •  Demonstrate responsibility for the containment of costs through appropriate ordering of supplies, recovery of service charges, and conservation of supplies
  •  Monitor department expenditures to ensure compliance with budget limits
  •  Respond promptly to changes in workload, adjusting assignments as necessary to achieve optimal productivity and efficiency
  •  Develop standards of performance, conduct annual performance evaluation, and initiate or make recommendations for HR actions
  •  Provide leadership development to all staff for effective problem identification and resolution, and for efficient day-to-day operations
  •  Practice and adhere to the Code of Conduct philosophy and Mission and Value Statement
  •  Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  •  Knowledge of the principles and practices of hospital and clinical operations and/or healthcare management
  •  Knowledge of the principles and practices of interfacility emergency medical services operations and management.
  •  Participative management style and an ability to work in a matrixed environment
  •  Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people, including but not limited to Corporate/Division leadership, HCA Patient Logistics Center leadership, staff from information technology and clinical backgrounds, physicians, and external vendors
  •  Knowledge of and ability to operate relevant medical equipment
  •  Obtain knowledge of state and national rules and regulations
  •  Must be independent, driven, self-motivated, and passionate with an exceptional work ethic, executive presence, integrity and presentation skills, both oral and written
  • Knowledge of productivity, financial operations and reporting systems
  •  Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Internet searches, and relevant databases
  •  Ability to work independently and under pressure to follow through on issues
  •  Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain long-term customer relationships, building trust and respect by consistently meeting and exceeding expectations
  • Ability to work effectively with other employees and external parties

EDUCATION

  • Associate’s degree in a health-related field preferred

CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE

  • EMT-P or RN licensure required
