A telecommute remote job allows employees to work from any location outside of a traditional office setting, typically from home. These positions rely on internet connectivity and digital communication tools to collaborate with colleagues and fulfill job responsibilities. Telecommuting offers flexibility in work hours and location, which can lead to improved work-life balance. However, it also requires strong self-discipline and effective time management skills to stay productive without direct supervision.

About the role:

In this newly created position within the Insights division, the Director, Political and Commercial Insights will lead complex quantitative research projects and develop new data-driven solutions for advocacy clients. This client-facing role suits someone with deep analytics expertise, strong communications skills, and the strategic ability to navigate client needs.

As a leader and strategist, the Director will be looking at the big picture, thinking creatively, and working with a team of data scientists and analysts to interpret the data that drives key insights. The Director will develop a deep understanding of the business and client needs and develop solid relationships with key business stakeholders across internal and external teams to provide effective guidance of the deliverables. This role will report to the Senior Director of Commercial Insights.

  • Lead quantitative research projects (including managing experimental designs, RCTs, tracking digital marketing programs, statistical modeling, and survey development and analysis)
  • Lead the generation of insights and client deliverables
  • Play a critical role in providing valuable strategic business insight and actionable recommendations to senior client leadership
  • Assess the performance of various marketing experiments and RCTs on an ongoing basis to identify new opportunities and insights
  • Oversee a team of data scientists, analysts, and project managers in executing workstreams and managing project needs
  • Design and regularly report on survey programs that both provide business insight and measure outreach effectiveness
  • Provide feedback and partner with our data and product teams to help hone and explain a target universe for our clients

What we are seeking:

  • 6+ years of relevant experience, including advanced analytics leadership
  • Strong familiarity in individual-level statistical modeling, polling, managing experimental designs, randomized control trials (RCTs), or tracking a marketing program is a plus
  • Experience with individual-level voter files is a plus
  • Competency in conducting/analyzing data and navigating large volumes of information to synthesize what's most important and actionable
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a consultative mindset, with the ability to develop strong partnerships and influence
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; demonstrate good presentation skills by pairing sound analytics with storytelling

What recruitment looks like:
We strive to hire efficiently and transparently. To get there, we anticipate the successful candidate will complete four interview rounds (HR 15 minutes, hiring manager interview, a technical assessment, and panel interview), all virtually.

What We Offer:

BlueLabs offers a friendly work environment and competitive benefits package including:

  • Premier health insurance plan
  • 401K matching
  • Unlimited vacation leave
  • Paid sick, personal, and volunteer leave
  • 15 weeks paid parental leave
  • Professional development stipend & tuition reimbursement

  • Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) stipend for mobile device
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Supportive & collaborative culture
  • Flexible working hours
  • Telecommuting/Remote options
  • Pre-tax transportation options
  • Lunches and snacks
  • And more!

The salary for this position is $140,000 - $160,000 annually.

While we prefer this position to be in the Washington, DC area, we are open to considering candidates from within the U.S.
