JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary


Nola Bank is seeking an experienced Deposit Operations Specialist to help build and lead the operational backbone of our deposit operations department. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this role is responsible for the day-to-day operational functions of the bank’s deposit products and services, ensuring transactions are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.


The Deposit Operations Specialist will handle account maintenance, ACH and wire processing, debit card administration, overdraft monitoring, exception processing, and customer account research. The Deposit Operations Specialist works closely with branch personnel, customers, and third-party vendors to resolve issues, maintain records, and support the overall integrity and efficiency of deposit operations while contributing to a high level of customer service.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Actively monitors the department emails and responds with answers/resolutions within the designated service level agreement parameters.
  • Provides telephone support to customers and all branch personnel and their inquiries.
  • Provide customer support for online banking inquiries and issues.
  • Provide support and assistance for Cash Management clients.
  • Perform tasks associated with wire transfers.
  • Perform annual audits and reviews for ACH Originators and RDC Clients.
  • Provide support for debit card related activity.
  • Monitor ATM activity and machine balances. Performs weekly/monthly balancing of ATMs.
  • Performs tasks associated with debit card and/or ACH disputes.
  • Prints and prepares various time sensitive customer communication notifications such as; CD renewals, change of address confirmations, deposit correction notices, wire transfer confirmation etc. for mailing each day.
  • Processes all return mail for the bank, to include account maintenance to prevent future mailings.
  • Performs the daily Regulation CC hold review to ensure compliance.
  • Performs various account maintenance transactions to include but not limited to: address changes, interest rate adjustments, fee waivers etc.
  • Verifies all new retail/consumer account paperwork/documentation for accuracy, completion, and CIP approval.
  • Verifies all updated retail/commercial account paperwork/documentation for accuracy, completion, and CIP approval.
  • Prints, verifies, and mails CD and IRA interest checks to customers.
  • Compiles month end reports for tracking purposes.
  • Completes daily reports for review and maintenance processing and completes requested research.
  • Ensures that own work as well the financial institution is in compliance with applicable regulations directly or through subordinates.


Required Qualifications


  • 2+ years of experience in bank, deposit or branch operations preferred
  • High School diploma or equivalency required.
  • Associates degree preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.
