Position Summary 

As the Building Move Project Manager, this individual will oversee the transition to the new headquarters facility, serving as the primary point of contact (POC) for the IT operations workstream and ensuring all logistical and technical components of the move are planned, coordinated, and executed successfully. 

The Senior Project Manager will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive move strategy that supports operational continuity while coordinating across facilities, IT, security, vendors, and executive stakeholders. This role requires strong federal project management experience, expertise in schedule management, and the ability to proactively anticipate and mitigate risks in a dynamic environment. 

The position requires regular onsite presence in downtown Washington, DC, with a minimum onsite requirement of one day per week and additional onsite support during critical transition activities. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Project Leadership & Move Execution 

  • Lead end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of the headquarters relocation initiative.  

  • Develop, manage, and execute a comprehensive move plan that addresses all operational, logistical, and technical workstreams.  

  • Provide regular project status updates, executive briefings, and leadership reporting on move readiness, risks, milestones, and dependencies.  

  • Ensure all move activities are executed with minimal disruption to ongoing business operations.  

  • Anticipate project risks, respond to evolving requirements, and implement mitigation strategies to maintain schedule and operational continuity.  

IT Operations & Technical Transition 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact (POC) for the IT operations workstream.  

  • Coordinate IT infrastructure transition activities including telecommunications, network readiness, workstation deployment, audiovisual systems, connectivity, and operational cutover planning.  

  • Collaborate closely with IT leadership, vendors, and facilities teams to ensure technical readiness and seamless operational transition.  

Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination 

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders (including realty project management team) across all move-related workstreams.  

  • Facilitate collaboration between facilities, IT, security, operations, leadership, contractors, movers, and external service providers.  

  • Manage vendor performance, deliverables, timelines, and issue resolution throughout the move lifecycle.  

  • Lead project meetings, working sessions, readiness reviews, and cross-functional coordination activities.  

Schedule Management 

  • Develop and maintain integrated master schedules covering all phases of the relocation effort.  

  • Monitor milestones, dependencies, and critical path activities across multiple workstreams.  

  • Identify schedule risks and implement corrective actions to maintain project timelines.  

  • Utilize scheduling and project management tools such as Microsoft Project and Agile-based planning methodologies where appropriate.  

Federal Project Management & Compliance 

  • Apply federal project management standards, governance practices, and reporting requirements throughout project execution.  

  • Coordinate with federal stakeholders and ensure compliance with applicable regulations, policies, security protocols, and operational requirements.  

  • Support contract coordination, procurement activities, and transition governance processes as needed.  

Onsite Coordination 

  • Maintain an onsite presence in downtown Washington, DC a minimum of one day per week.  

  • Provide onsite coordination and oversight during critical move preparation and execution phases.  

  • Support operational readiness assessments, walkthroughs, occupancy planning, and transition activities. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Information Technology, Business Administration, Facilities Management, Engineering, or related field.  

  • Minimum of 8–10 years of project management experience.  

  • Demonstrated experience managing federal projects, programs, or contracts.  

  • Proven Experience managing IT infrastructure transitions and technical operational cutovers.  

  • Strong proficiency in schedule management, integrated master scheduling, and project coordination.  

  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders simultaneously.  

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.  

  • Ability to adapt to evolving project requirements in fast-paced environments.  

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.  

  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools such as Agile and Microsoft Project.  

  • Experience managing office transition, building relocation, etc.  

  • Experience with facilities coordination, occupancy planning, and change management initiatives.  

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and executive communication capabilities.  

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and proactive project management approach.  

  • Experience supporting federal agencies, government contractors, or regulated environments. 
     

Work Authorization: U.S. Citizenship required due to federal contract requirements. 

Working Conditions: This position is primarily performed in an office environment. Employees will be required to use a computer and other office equipment for extended periods.
