Job description

FPA is currently searching for a full-time Telecom Project Manager in our Wall, New Jersey Office.


Core Responsibilities

  • Manage telecommunications projects including small cell deployments, fiber optic infrastructure, wireless facilities, utility coordination, and related civil/site development improvements
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, utility companies, municipalities, and internal project teams
  • Coordinate project schedules, budgets, staffing, and deliverables to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Oversee the preparation and review of engineering plans, specifications, permit applications, and construction documents
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, electrical, survey, environmental, and permitting staff
  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify and resolve issues impacting scope, schedule, or budget
  • Attend client meetings, site visits, and project coordination meetings as needed
  • Assist with proposal preparation, scope development, fee estimates, and business development initiatives
  • Support construction administration activities including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and coordinating with contractors during construction
  • Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations, client standards, and company quality standards
  • Mentor junior staff and support professional growth within the department

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Telecommunications, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience managing telecommunications, utility, or infrastructure-related projects within a consulting engineering or multidisciplinary engineering environment
  • Knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure including fiber optic systems, wireless facilities, utility coordination, and permitting processes
  • Strong understanding of project management principles including budgeting, scheduling, resource coordination, and client management
  • Experience coordinating with municipalities, utility companies, regulatory agencies, and telecommunications carriers
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software
  • Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Revit, O-Calc, tnxTower, RISA, and other structural analysis software is preferred
  • Familiarity with applicable telecommunications and structural design standards and codes including TIA-222, AISC, and ACI
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure is preferred
  • PMP certification is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites and client meetings as needed

Compensation

The projected compensation range for this position is $115,000 to $140,000. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as experience, education and skill set.
