Senior Project Manager – MEP

Location: Omaha, NE (On-Site)

Compensation: $120,000 – $180,000 Anually

Mainelli Mechanical Contractors is a leading full-service mechanical and plumbing contractor serving Nebraska and Iowa since 1969. The company specializes in design-build construction, fabrication, process piping, plumbing, medical gas systems, boilers, maintenance, and service for healthcare, commercial, institutional, data center, government, telecommunications, and educational facilities.

Position Overview

Mainelli Mechanical Contractors is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager – MEP to oversee mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and MEP construction projects from pre-construction through project closeout. This individual will be responsible for managing project schedules, budgets, procurement activities, subcontractors, vendors, field operations, and client relationships while ensuring successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead MEP construction projects through all phases of the project lifecycle, from pre-construction to closeout.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, forecasting, and cost controls.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, field personnel, and project stakeholders.
  • Review drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and construction documents.
  • Manage procurement activities, material deliveries, and expediting efforts.
  • Monitor project progress, resolve field issues, and manage change orders.
  • Lead project meetings and provide mentorship to project teams.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, safety requirements, and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting.
  • Support client relationships and business development initiatives.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience within MEP, Mechanical, HVAC, Plumbing, or Commercial Construction environments.
  • Proven experience managing commercial, institutional, healthcare, education, government, industrial, mission-critical, or data center construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, scheduling, procurement, cost control, and subcontractor management.
  • Experience with change orders, RFIs, submittals, project documentation, and project closeout.
  • Understanding of mechanical systems, HVAC, plumbing, piping, and MEP construction processes.
  • Proficiency with project management software such as Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar platforms.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
Preferred Experience
  • Design-Build project delivery experience.
  • Healthcare, hospital, medical gas, process piping, boiler, or data center project experience.
  • PMP, LEED, OSHA, or other industry certifications.
