Telecom Market Development & Expansion Manager

Location: Remote

Compensation: Competitive Salary + Bonus

Must Have:

  • Experience working for a cable MSO, broadband provider, fiber provider, or telecommunications carrier
  • Experience evaluating and developing new market expansion opportunities
  • Strong GIS experience (ArcGIS or similar)
  • Experience with SQL, Python, and data analytics tools
  • Understanding of broadband network deployment, fiber construction, and telecom infrastructure

Overview

We are seeking a Telecom Market Development & Expansion Manager to lead market growth initiatives, identify expansion opportunities, and support strategic broadband deployment decisions. This individual will play a key role in evaluating new territories, analyzing market opportunities, supporting build strategies, and helping drive broadband growth across existing and emerging markets.

The ideal candidate comes from a cable, fiber, or telecommunications provider and understands how network expansion decisions are made from both operational and financial perspectives. This role combines market strategy, GIS analysis, data analytics, and telecom planning to support network growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate new market opportunities for broadband and telecom service expansion
  • Utilize GIS tools and spatial analysis to assess serviceability, growth potential, and network expansion opportunities
  • Analyze demographic, competitive, and subscriber data to support strategic decision-making
  • Develop business cases and recommendations for market investment and fiber deployment
  • Leverage SQL and Python to analyze large datasets and uncover actionable insights
  • Create reports, dashboards, and predictive models to assist leadership with growth planning
  • Partner with engineering, construction, finance, operations, and leadership teams to prioritize network build initiatives
  • Support FTTH, broadband, and enterprise service expansion efforts
  • Monitor competitive activity, overbuild initiatives, and market trends
  • Track network performance, market penetration, and expansion success metrics
  • Present findings and strategic recommendations to executive leadership

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience within cable, broadband, fiber, or telecommunications organizations
  • Experience in market development, network planning, business intelligence, GIS analysis, or strategic growth functions
  • Advanced GIS experience, preferably with ArcGIS
  • Experience using SQL for data extraction and analysis
  • Experience with Python for analytics, automation, or data modeling
  • Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of telecom infrastructure, fiber deployment, HFC networks, and broadband technologies
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, construction, finance, and operations teams
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting FTTH expansion, market planning, broadband growth initiatives, or network investment strategies
  • Knowledge of telecom market intelligence and competitive analysis
  • Experience building forecasting models and executive-level reporting
  • Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar visualization tools
  • MBA or related business degree

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $85.00/hr.
