Job description

Job Summary Oversees and /or performs a variety of complex projects. Responsible for defining project scope, goals and deliverables. Leads cross functional teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and meets all standards.

Collaborates with stakeholders to gather requirements, manage, coordinate and communicate relevant information. Distinguishing Characteristics This is a journey level position performing a wide range of highly technical functions within the department; assists efforts to accomplish the goals and objectives of the department and the county within general policy guidelines. The incumbent also provides technical recommendations and guidance to senior leaders in the department.

Licensing, Education, & Other Requirements Any combination of training, education, and experience would provide the required knowledge and abilities. A typical way to gain the required knowledge and ability is: Bachelor's degree in Project Management or other closely related field; and Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience with building and civil plan interpretation, building code review, construction procedures, quality of materials, safety standards, and use of basic mathematics and geometry in the field; and At least 2 years of progressively responsible experience in project management or related field; or An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that could provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must obtain and maintain FEMA Certified Floodplain Manager certificate within two (2) years of hire.

Must obtain and maintain Project Management Certification within 12 months of hire. Maintain a Class C Driver's License Required Must pass a criminal background investigation. Military experience applicable to the duties of this position may be preferred.
