The Operations Manager is responsible for the successful execution of multiple low-voltage and structured cabling projects across hyperscale data center, mission-critical, and commercial environments. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, this position provides operational leadership to Superintendents, Foremen, Project Managers, and field personnel while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This leader drives operational consistency, workforce planning, customer satisfaction, financial performance, and continuous improvement while partnering closely with estimating, preconstruction, procurement, and executive leadership to support the company's continued growth. #XST

What You Will Do...Operational Leadership
  • Report directly to the Director of Operations and execute operational strategies that support company growth and profitability.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for multiple concurrent projects throughout their entire lifecycle.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Superintendents, Project Managers, Foremen, and field leadership teams.
  • Build a culture focused on safety, accountability, quality, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, workforce development, succession planning, and employee retention initiatives.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and coaching for operational staff.
Project Execution
  • Oversee execution of large-scale structured cabling and low-voltage infrastructure projects.
  • Ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with customer expectations.
  • Monitor labor productivity, manpower utilization, production metrics, and project profitability.
  • Review project schedules, staffing plans, procurement status, and risk assessments.
  • Partner with Project Managers to proactively resolve scheduling, manpower, material, and customer issues.
  • Conduct regular project reviews and jobsite visits to verify safety, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Provide executive-level support on critical project issues, customer escalations, and recovery plans.
Customer & Business Development
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, general contractors, trade partners, and vendors.
  • Participate in customer meetings, project reviews, and executive update meetings.
  • Support business development efforts by assisting with customer presentations, proposals, and strategic pursuits.
  • Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction throughout project execution.
Financial Management
  • Partner with Project Managers to review project financial performance.
  • Monitor budgets, labor forecasts, productivity, gross margins, and change order management.
  • Assist with forecasting revenue, labor requirements, backlog, and resource allocation.
  • Identify operational efficiencies that improve profitability while maintaining quality and customer satisfaction.
Quality & Safety
  • Champion a safety-first culture throughout all operations.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, customer safety standards, and company policies.
  • Oversee quality assurance processes and ensure compliance with customer installation standards.
  • Support commissioning, turnover, closeout documentation, and punch list completion.
Operational Excellence
  • Standardize operational processes across multiple projects and regions.
  • Improve field productivity through training, technology, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with estimating, procurement, warehouse, engineering, and executive leadership to improve project delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization.

What You Will Need to Succeed...
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience managing structured cabling, low-voltage, or mission-critical construction projects.
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience managing Superintendents, Project Managers, or multiple field teams.
  • Strong understanding of hyperscale data center construction and structured cabling infrastructure.
  • Extensive experience with:
    • Fiber optic infrastructure
    • Copper structured cabling systems
    • Pathways, cable tray, ladder rack, basket tray, and raceway systems
    • Large-scale cable installation and testing
  • Working knowledge of BICSI standards, TIA/EIA standards, and low-voltage industry best practices.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of construction scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and labor planning.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, customer relationships, and contract execution.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills.
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and organizational abilities.
  • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and project management software.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed.

The base salary range for this role is $160,000-$250,000 annually. Please note that the compensation range reflects the base pay only and does not include benefits, or bonuses this role may be eligible to receive. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by bona fide factors such as geographic work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
