You will be working in the Building OU in where we partner with Building Services to deliver fit-for-purpose buildings across education, defence, civic, custodial, commercial and mixed-use sectors. Committed to net-zero by 2045, we design and maintain high-performing, sustainable spaces that boost health, wellbeing and community resilience.


We are currently looking for a Procurement Lead who will lead MEP procurement activities across major healthcare infrastructure projects in the New Hospital Programme, delivering strategic sourcing, supply chain management and commercial value throughout the project lifecycle.


As the Procurement Lead, you will:

  • Lead procurement activities for assigned major healthcare and infrastructure projects from bid stage through project completion.
  • Develop project-specific procurement strategies aligned with sector, framework and category strategies, and with New Hospital Programme and Hospital 2.0 delivery requirements.
  • Support project teams during tender, pre-construction and delivery phases through timely procurement of subcontract packages, materials, plant and equipment.
  • Evaluate and define best-value procurement routes to market for complex work packages, supporting standardisation, repeatable components and platform-led solutions where appropriate.
  • Deliver procurement plans that support programme objectives, commercial targets and project milestones.
  • Support the team in generation of reporting required metrics, project and Alliance level KPIs and outperform targets in relation to the NHP obligations.


We are looking for:

  • Significant experience in senior procurement leadership roles within construction and healthcare sectors.
  • Proven experience delivering procurement strategies across major projects and complex programmes, ideally within the New Hospital Programme or comparable standardised UK major programme delivery environments.
  • Extensive subcontract, materials, plant and equipment procurement experience.
  • Proven track record of supplier relationship management and commercial negotiation.
  • Experience supporting large-scale healthcare or major capital projects.
  • Good understanding of Hospital 2.0 design principles, including standardisation, repeatable design, modern methods of construction and digitally enabled delivery.
  • Strong understanding of procurement governance, public procurement principles and commercial risk management.
