Job Objective:
As a Kroc Attendant you will perform a variety of duties such as cleaning exercise machines and program spaces, facilitating and/or assisting with programs and events, checking out/in equipment, assisting with score keeping, activity and class prep & cleanup for the St. Joseph County Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center. The Kroc Attendant must demonstrate strong communication skills, be out-going, and enjoy building relationships with a variety of members and guests. The Kroc Attendant may be required to perform as the Mascot (RJ). All done while ensuring that the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out.
What You Will Do:
General Duties for All Attendants in all departments:
  • Maintain accurate equipment check in and out procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness of assigned area and it's equipment following departmental specific guidelines
  • Return all equipment to the proper location
  • Report all equipment breakdowns according to departmental procedure
  • Enforce all safety guidelines that pertain to the assigned area on a constant and consistent basis
  • Other tasks as assigned by leadership

Fitness and/or Recreation Attendant:
  • Assist members during workouts with proper use of equipment, proper form and safety guidelines
  • Report all equipment and fitness area problems or needed repairs to the Manager on Duty
  • Enforcing all rules that pertain to the fitness and exercise areas on a constant and consistent basis

Pool Attendant:
  • Responsible for the safety, supervision, and active entertainment of all children using the pool slide.
  • Ability to assist in any emergencies or accidents, filling out incident reports as needed.

Climbing Wall Attendant:
  • Perform participant safety orientation and supervise all climbers for safe practices
  • Enforcing all rules that pertain to the climbing wall on a constant and consistent basis
  • Provide overall supervision of climbing wall during hours of operation.
  • Observe all safety rules and regulations

Art & Digital Arts Room Attendant:
  • Ensure safety, supervision, and engagement of all participants in the Art and Digital Arts Rooms.
  • Assist with the proper and safe use of art supplies, digital tools, and equipment.
  • Enforce all room rules and guidelines consistently.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, supplies, and equipment.
  • Monitor and check in/out shared materials (art supplies, tablets, styluses, etc.).
  • Report any equipment issues or safety concerns to the Manager on Duty.

Kid's Watch Attendant:
  • Responsible for the safety, supervision and active entertainment of all children placed in the Kids Watch area, while parents/guardians are participating in Kroc Center activities.
  • Maintain readiness and cleanliness of the Kids Watch area by cleaning equipment, toys and play areas as determined by Policy and Procedures
  • Maintain daily observation logs and all paperwork related to the assigned shift
  • Must complete Safe from Harm training and CPR Training within the first 30 days of employment

Welcome Desk Attendant:
  • Primarily responsibilities include selling and/or verifying membership's program registrations as well as providing facility information, answering, and routing all incoming phone calls
  • Perform point of sales (POS) transactions/software functions at the Welcome Desk
  • Receive and handle incoming telephone calls, greet visitors and respond to emails in a friendly and business-like manner
  • Direct calls to appropriate program/staff in a timely manner

Teen Zone Attendant:
  • Responsible for the safety, supervision and engagement of all teens in the Zone Activity room.
  • Responsible for checking in/ out members as they enter and exit the Zone.
  • Assist with programming as needed.
  • Responsible for checking in/out all materials (video games, controllers, board games, puzzles) used by teens in the Zone.
  • Maintain readiness and cleanliness of the Zone area by cleaning tables, counter tops, and equipment by Policy and Procedure

Minimum Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.
Background Checks: Position requires a background check to be completed and all background check results will be reviewed.
Certifications: Must complete Safe From Harm training within the first 30 days of employment
Skills/Abilities:
  • Able to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, field personnel, and clientele.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft products and ability to learn electronic reporting systems.
