Job description

POSITION TITLE: Bilingual Family Therapist

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

LOCATION: Durham, NC - Hybrid (Casual, Flexible Work Environment)

JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Parenting of Adolescents Program Manager, the role of the Family Therapist is to provide in-home therapy, utilizing the Multidimensional Family Therapy and Trauma- Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy program models to adolescents and caregivers involved with or at risk of becoming involved with the Juvenile Justice and Child Protective Service systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides therapy to youth and their families utilizing the Multidimensional Family Therapy and Trauma- Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy program models

Meets with families 1 to 3 times per week in the home, office, community and via telehealth

Supports families involved with the program in court, school meetings and with prosocial youth activities

Administers and collects pre and post-test measures for families involved with the program

Completes exams; writes weekly summaries and session plans; videotapes sessions according to model fidelity

Participates in weekly group and individual supervision

Attends community events and meetings as needed

Facilitates groups for teens and families when provided

All other tasks as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum degree: Master of Social Work (MSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Marriage and Family Counseling

Either Provisionally or fully licensed (LCSW(A))

Certified or willing to become certified in the Multidimensional Family Therapy model (MDFT) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)

Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Must have reliable transportation for regular home and community visits

Experience working with families and youth

Highly effective organizational and time management skills

Strong adherence to model fidelity
