Description
This is a client-facing position and with competencies and advanced knowledge of benefit programs, HR  administrative functions, underwriting principles, medical funding arrangements, and plan design options.  Emphasis on proactive client service and main liaison between the client and carrier/vendors. 

Key Responsibilities

∙ Overall client lead for implementation, renewal, open enrollment, and ongoing service. ∙ Onboard new clients by working with incumbent carriers for takeover information, prepare internal new  business documentation, ensure carrier appointment/licensing paperwork is in place. 

∙ Lead renewal process with carriers, negotiations, and plan alternatives, with or without VP of Operations,  depending on account size and complexity. 

∙ Lead the RFP process; spreadsheet and compare carrier proposals, ensure accuracy and alignment with  client objectives; ability to make recommendations to VP of Operations and/or Producer. ∙ Prepare and present proposals with recommendations to client; include contribution modeling and plan  modeling such as HRA impact, with team assistance as needed. 

∙ Proactively assist with compliance and/or ACA requirements such as determining affordability rate, PCORI  fee responsibility, and understanding/modeling A and B potential penalties. 

∙ Lead open enrollment process, conduct open enrollment meetings virtually or in-person. ∙ Understand, implement, and manage eligibility process and support clients utilizing internal resources,  carrier portals and/or enrollment platforms. 

∙ Remain current on vendor/carrier plans and programs, industry trends and legislation. ∙ Consistently follow client service workflows and appropriately engage internal resources and escalate as  necessary. 

∙ Develop and maintain positive working relationships by collaborating with coworkers and carriers/partners. ∙ Assist other team members and act as a backup as needed. 


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

∙ Prior broker experience, 5-8 years in a similar role or Human Resources benefits role. ∙ Advanced knowledge of medical, dental, vision and ancillary benefits. 
∙ Proficient understanding of ALE rules and regulations, such as ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, Section 125,  Wrap Documents, 5500 requirements. 
∙ Microsoft Office suite experience required (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). 
∙ Familiar with Employee Navigator, HRIS systems, EDI process with carriers is a plus. ∙ Detail oriented and well organized with a sense of urgency, be a problem solver, servant leader, and a  good communicator. 
∙ Team player with the ability to build rapport, confidence, and trust externally and internally.
