Our residents include teens with anxiety, depression, autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences, and emotional dysregulation. Our program is designed to support their unique strengths within a structured, affirming environment. The LVN is essential in supporting the medical and psychiatric needs of adolescents in a residential treatment setting by conducting health assessments, administering medications, monitoring client wellness, and collaborating with psychiatrists and clinical staff.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete nursing screenings and assessments for new admissions according to program protocols.
  • Administer, monitor, and document medications in accordance with physician orders and company policies.
  • Supervise medication distribution and self-administration processes for residential clients.
  • Monitor client health status and communicate concerns to the treatment team.
  • Coordinate referrals and linkage to outside medical services when necessary.
  • Provide individual and group education regarding medications and health-related topics.
  • Maintain accurate medical records, medication logs, and client documentation.
  • Assist psychiatrists and other medical providers as needed.
  • Partner with Operations leadership to order and maintain medical supplies and equipment.
  • Participate in weekly clinical and interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Cross-train and support other departments and programs as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required:

  • Current and unrestricted California LVN license.
  • Minimum of 2 years of LVN experience required.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Successful completion of health screening, TB clearance, and background check.

Preferred:

  • Experience with autistic teens, ADHD, sensory processing differences, or neurodivergent populations (ages 12-17)
  • Experience in behavioral health, mental health, psychiatry, substance use treatment, or residential treatment settings.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and adolescent development.

About Muir Wood:
We provide trauma-informed, relationship-centered residential treatment for teens ages 12–17. Our neurodivergent program offers a structured, affirming environment where teens can build on their unique strengths—guided by a compassionate team of clinicians, educators, and direct care staff.
