Position Summary

Lake Winnepesaukah Amusement Park is seeking energetic and enthusiastic dancers to join the entertainment team for WinnepeSPOOKAH, the park's annual Halloween event.

WinnepeSPOOKAH dancers perform choreographed routines, participate in nightly Halloween parades, interact with guests, and provide roaming entertainment throughout the park. Dancers play an important role in creating the fun, energetic, and spooky atmosphere that guests have come to expect from WinnepeSPOOKAH.

This position requires attendance at scheduled rehearsals and performance dates throughout September and October.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

WinnepeSPOOKAH dancers are expected to:

• Learn and perform choreographed dance routines as directed by the Director/Choreographer.
• Participate in the nightly WinnepeSPOOKAH opening performance.
• Perform in scheduled WinnepeSPOOKAH parades, including the park's Thriller and Time Warp parade performances.
• Participate in mini "flash mob" performances and other entertainment throughout the park.
• Encourage guests to participate in interactive dances such as the Cha-Cha Slide, Cupid Shuffle, and similar activities.
• Interact enthusiastically and appropriately with guests while remaining in character.
• Pose for photographs with guests while in costume.
• Encourage guest participation in hula hooping, games, dancing, and other Halloween-themed activities.
• Assist with distributing or applying approved Halloween-themed decals to participating guests.
• Assist with the sale or distribution of glow necklaces and other designated event items when assigned.
• Provide roaming entertainment between scheduled performances.
• Maintain a positive, energetic, and welcoming presence throughout each shift.
• Follow choreography, staging, parade routes, timing, and instructions provided by entertainment leadership.
• Properly wear and care for costumes and other park-provided entertainment equipment.
• Follow all Lake Winnepesaukah policies, safety procedures, and employee standards.
• Perform other entertainment-related duties as assigned.

Performance Expectations

Dancers are expected to maintain a high level of energy and enthusiasm throughout the event. Much of the position involves direct interaction with park guests in addition to choreographed performances.

Performers must be comfortable:

• Performing in front of large crowds.
• Dancing and performing outdoors.
• Wearing Halloween-themed costumes for extended periods.
• Walking and dancing throughout the amusement park.
• Interacting directly with children, teenagers, families, and other guests.
• Remaining enthusiastic and in character even when not participating in a scheduled dance performance.
• Learning and retaining multiple choreographed routines.

Qualifications

Applicants must:

• Be at least 16 years old by September 1, 2026.
• Be available for required rehearsals and performance dates.
• Be able to learn and perform choreographed dance routines.
• Be comfortable performing in front of crowds.
• Have strong energy, enthusiasm, and guest-interaction skills.
• Be dependable and punctual for rehearsals, call times, and performances.
• Be able to work effectively as part of an entertainment team.
• Be willing to follow the direction of the Director/Choreographer and park management.

Previous dance or performance experience is helpful, but enthusiasm, reliability, stage presence, and the ability to learn choreography are important considerations in casting.

Physical Requirements

This position requires significant physical activity. Dancers must be able to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Perform choreographed dances repeatedly throughout a shift.
• Walk and dance along the WinnepeSPOOKAH parade route.
• Bend, reach, turn, and perform other movements required by choreography.
• Perform outdoors in varying fall weather conditions.
• Safely perform while wearing assigned costumes and costume accessories.

Reasonable accommodations will be considered as required by applicable law.

Costumes

Lake Winnepesaukah provides assigned performance costumes.

Dancers are generally responsible for providing their own appropriate:

• Tights
• Socks
• Shoes
• Undergarments

Additional costume requirements may be communicated after casting.

2026 Required Rehearsals

Approximately 15 hours of paid rehearsal are anticipated.

Between scheduled performances, dancers provide roaming entertainment and interact with guests throughout the park.

Breaks and Meals

Dancers receive scheduled breaks in accordance with park procedures, including opportunities for water breaks during the evening.

Employees are encouraged to eat before reporting for their shift or bring food with them. Employee food discounts may be available at designated park food locations.

Compensation

$14.00 per hour

Dancers are paid for required rehearsals and scheduled performances. Approximately 15 hours of paid rehearsal are anticipated prior to the start of regular performances.

Employees are paid weekly according to Lake Winnepesaukah's regular payroll schedule.

Guest Experience

The primary purpose of the WinnepeSPOOKAH entertainment team is to create a memorable Halloween experience for park guests.

Dancers are expected to be enthusiastic, approachable, entertaining, and engaged throughout their shifts-not only during scheduled performances.

Every interaction should contribute to the festive atmosphere of WinnepeSPOOKAH and help make the event an experience guests look forward to returning to each year.
