Job description

Direct Counsel is representing an Am Law 100 firm seeking a Midlevel Technology Transactions Associate to join its Seattle office.

The ideal candidate will have 1–4 years of transactional experience with a solid understanding of intellectual property and product development. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior attorneys in the firm’s Technology Transactions and Data Protection Practice Group, gaining mentorship and exposure to sophisticated matters across a variety of industries and regions.

Key Experience:

  • Drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts involving the acquisition, use, and exploitation of technology and IP.

  • Experience with product development and licensing, manufacturing, resale, supply chain, logistics, and customer agreements (including SaaS, hardware, software, and services).

  • Advising on IP protection and regulatory compliance, particularly data protection, privacy, and security regulations, is preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Superior academic credentials (top 15% preferred).

  • Demonstrated interest in technology and IP, shown through prior work experience, academic focus, or STEM background.

  • Law Review, Moot Court, or journal experience a plus.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.

Base Compensation: $220,000 – $340,000 (commensurate with experience and market factors).
