DESCRIPTION

Join our collaborative team at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where you'll help shape the future of digital solutions for bioprocessing. As Senior Manager, Product Management – Connected Bioprocess Solutions, you will lead the strategy and execution of a portfolio of software, automation, and digital products that help customers improve productivity, process performance, and operational efficiency.

This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for defining product strategy, developing long-term roadmaps, and delivering innovative solutions that address evolving customer needs. You will identify market opportunities, guide portfolio investments, and partner across the organization to deliver differentiated solutions that support both customer success and business growth.

Reporting to the Director of Product Management, you will lead a team of Product Managers while working closely with R&D, Software Engineering, Commercial, Marketing, Operations, Manufacturing, and Strategic Business Development. Success requires balancing customer needs, technical feasibility, and commercial priorities while influencing a global, cross-functional organization.

As the business owner for the portfolio, you will define product vision, prioritize investments, and guide products throughout their lifecycle—from concept through commercialization. You will translate customer insights into product strategies that create meaningful customer value while supporting long-term business objectives.

You will evaluate customer workflows, market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging technologies to identify new opportunities for growth and innovation. You will develop business cases, support annual operating plans, lead new product introductions, and monitor portfolio performance throughout the product lifecycle.

The role also requires building strong relationships across internal teams and external partners to accelerate innovation and ensure solutions meet the evolving needs of customers worldwide.

As a key product leader, you will engage directly with customers, commercial teams, and industry stakeholders to gather market insights, validate product direction, and strengthen Thermo Fisher's leadership position in bioprocessing technologies.

This role offers an opportunity to influence the future direction of Thermo Fisher's digital product portfolio while helping customers improve process performance through innovative technology solutions.

REQUIREMENTS

How you will get here:

  • 8+ years of experience in Product Management, Digital Products, Software, Automation, Scientific Instruments, or related technical leadership roles
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing product strategies within life sciences, industrial automation, manufacturing, or related industries
  • Experience managing software-enabled, automation, or connected product portfolios
  • Proven success developing multi-year product roadmaps and leading products from concept through commercialization
  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle management, portfolio strategy, pricing, and business case development
  • Experience gathering customer insights and translating them into product requirements and commercial opportunities
  • Experience working effectively across engineering, commercial, operations, and manufacturing organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders across a global matrix organization
  • Experience working in regulated industries is preferred
  • Proven people leadership experience with the ability to coach and develop high-performing product teams
  • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen
  • Excellent communication and executive presentation skills
  • Ability to influence without direct authority across diverse functional teams
  • Experience with software, automation, digital technologies, or scientific instrumentation
  • Understanding of manufacturing, laboratory, or bioprocessing workflows
  • Experience developing customer-centric products in technically complex markets
  • Experience building collaborative relationships with strategic partners and technology providers
  • Strong analytical, financial, and portfolio management capabilities
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (25–30%)

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $143,000.00–$214,475.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
