POSITION SUMMARY:
Advanced Energy is looking for an Electrical Engineer new college graduate to go through a one year long rotation program to develop a broad set of skills before you are deployed as a Field Application Engineer. During the rotation program, you will work in multiple different US cities to develop skills in design, application, and field engineering. Once deployed as Field Application Engineer you will help drive sales growth in the industrial and medical power supply segment. You will collaborate with the sales team, marketing, and design engineers to provide highly differentiated technical support to our customers to drive design wins at a diverse set of applications and customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • FAEs support the adoption of Advanced Energy power solutions to our customers at all stages of the engagement process from presales activity to postproduction/installation support
  • FAE support comes in many forms: AE solution recommendations, system architecture guidance, schematic review, on-site customer qualification & debug support, etc.
  • Through developing engineering relationships with our customers, the FAE will identify and communicate technical requirements for new applications or customer needs that aren't served by the current portfolio to the product development. FAE input is critical in definition of new products and roadmap
  • FAEs regularly provide technology updates and product training to customers, sales, and distribution
  • As a trusted customer advocate, FAEs must have the confidence and persuasive skills to earn the respect of engineering leaders both internally and with the customer
  • The FAEs technical perspective will influence the sales strategy

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Charismatic communicator that can advocate for customers to an internal audience and for the company to the customer
  • Strong problem-solving methodology
  • A passionate and curious technologist with an ability to learn and adapt to industry trends
  • Basic knowledge of power electronics with ability to qualify, test, modify, and debug power supplies in the lab as needed

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on power electronics

COMPENSATION:
As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $66,000 to $100,000 base salary per year.
Additionally, this position is eligible for the Sales Incentive Plan with a specific target amount to be determined based on the role.
