IT Program Manager – Healthcare Integration (M&A)

 

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT Program Manager to lead the successful integration of IT systems and infrastructure in support of a major healthcare provider acquisition. This role is critical to ensuring a seamless transition of technology platforms while minimizing disruption to clinical and business operations.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in healthcare IT and a proven track record managing complex merger & acquisition (M&A) integrations, including EHR/EMR systems and enterprise infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead a comprehensive IT integration strategy and roadmap, covering all phases from due diligence through post-merger stabilization
  • Coordinate cross-functional IT teams, including infrastructure, applications, data, and cybersecurity
  • Provide oversight and direction to project managers across multiple workstreams (EHR integration, network, application rationalization, etc.)
  • Oversee data migration efforts, ensuring accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance
  • Manage the integration of EHR/EMR platforms, addressing compatibility and workflow challenges
  • Own and manage the program budget, including time and materials tracking
  • Build and maintain detailed project plans, including milestones, dependencies, and critical paths
  • Serve as the primary liaison between technical teams, clinical leadership, and executive stakeholders
  • Identify and mitigate program risks, ensuring successful delivery within timelines and budget
  • Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations, including HIPAA
  • Lead change management and communication efforts to support end-user adoption
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors and consultants

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or related field
  • 7–10+ years of IT program management experience, leading large, complex initiatives
  • Proven experience managing IT integrations for mergers & acquisitions, preferably in healthcare
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare IT systems, including EHR/EMR and clinical/business applications
  • Deep understanding of data migration, system integration, and interoperability challenges
  • Solid knowledge of healthcare compliance regulations, especially HIPAA
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present to executive leadership and technical teams
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management abilities
  • Demonstrated success managing budgets, timelines, and resources
  • PMP, PgMP, or similar certification (preferred)
