Job description

The Assistant Program Director provides group living arrangements for individuals that are discharged from impatient hospitalization and assists the  Program Director in the daily operation of the facility delivering quality service to resident.

In this position you will;

  • Familiarity with Federal, State and Local laws and regulations as they apply to the operation of the residence
  • Compilation of activity reports related to residential services, program and building activities, as required
  • All activities related to the securing, furnishing and maintaining acceptable standard for all residential apartments
  • In the absence of the Program Director, conduct supervisory meetings with all staff and maintain documentation of these meetings
  • Ensure the development and implementation of all clinical aspects of services provided to consumers of the program
  • Counsels residents in identifying and resolving social or other problems
  • Ensure the appropriate reporting, filing and follow-up of incidents involving Mental Health Services clients and/or staff
  • Development and implementation of individual client service plans in conjunction     with program staff, client and other related individuals as indicated
  • Participates in discharge planning
  • Provide Crisis Intervention when indicated including on-call coverage and documentation of events as they occur
  • Provides emergency and relief coverage as necessary
  • Attendance and participation in staff meetings and training as required
  • Oversee activities of all program staff for quality assurance purposes
  • Administer Program operational funds including petty cash, recreational and special accounts in the absence of the Program Director

  • REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field required
    • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience
    • Experience with homelessness and mental illness population
    ·         Effective written and oral communication skills.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

    • Master’s degree preferred, professional license LMSW, LCSW, or LMHC preferred
    • Experience working with different populations preferred
    ·         Bilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred·         Eg. Behavior Tech Training preferred.  ·         Basic computer skills (e.g. MS Office suite and Windows)
