Hybrid 2 days onsite in Rosemead, CA
Our client seeks an IT Project Manager to lead the Technology Integration workstream for an AMI 2.0 program. The role requires end-to-end project delivery, financial ownership, and coordination across technical and business teams. The position emphasizes budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and alignment of solution design with requirements. The manager will support scope governance, risk management, and vendor coordination in a complex enterprise environment.
Rate: $70.00 to $75.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities:
  • Lead end-to-end execution of the Technology Integration workstream.
  • Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, and work breakdown structures.
  • Coordinate across technical and business teams to align with milestones and deliverables.
  • Ensure solution design aligns with business requirements and technical delivery.
  • Own financial estimating, budgeting, and forecasting for Technology Integration workstreams.
  • Prepare and deliver regular financial reports, including variance analysis and forecasts.
  • Track expenditures across program releases and ensure transparency of spend.
  • Maintain documentation of financial transactions for audit and compliance.
  • Track scope against baseline requirements and support change control processes.
  • Document scope changes, assess impacts, and escalate risks as needed.
  • Ensure traceability between requirements, design, and deliverables.
  • Identify risks and opportunities and recommend corrective actions.
  • Partner closely with Technology Integration leadership and technical teams.
  • Support procurement, vendor management, and contract negotiations.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience Requirements:
  • 3+ years of project management experience with strong focus on financial planning and analysis.
  • Experience managing large, multi-workstream enterprise programs with multi-year timelines.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with reporting or dashboard development.
  • Broad IT infrastructure knowledge with ability to connect end-to-end delivery dependencies.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and deliver with limited direction.
  • Ability to execute hands-on and manage or delegate across workstreams.
  • Experience in electric utility programs such as AMI, smart grid, or grid modernization (preferred).
  • Exposure to AMI 1.0 or 2.0 programs (preferred).
  • Experience with system integrations such as MDMS, head-end systems, OMS, SAP, or ADMS (preferred).
  • Experience presenting technical information to non-technical audiences (preferred).
  • Familiarity with regulatory and financial compliance in utility or IT environments (preferred).
  • Strong background in vendor management and IT contract negotiations (preferred).

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Master's degree in Finance, Business, or related field (preferred).
  • PMP or CAPM certification (preferred).
