Job description

Eta Wireless is solving the fundamental problem of RF power amplifier power consumption in communications devices. We pioneered Digital Envelope Tracking (DET) technology and have since been acquired by Murata Manufacturing in September 2021. Eta is a multi-disciplinary, multi-national team of engineers with expertise spanning RF systems, power electronics, integrated circuits, embedded systems, software, algorithms, and module design. The breadth of expertise allows us to solve challenging problems with creative and disruptive solutions at tier-one customers.

The RF Systems Engineer works with wireless (e.g. cellular/Wi-Fi) platforms solving complex problems with solutions involving power electronics, algorithms, and a clear understanding of system-level requirements.ย  They work with tier-one platform customers to integrate DET technology and contribute to Eta Wireless internal technology development.ย  The RF Systems Engineer has relevant experience, mentors other engineers, manages one or more projects, and can clearly explain both problem and solution to engineers internally and in customer engagements.

What To Expect (Essential Job Responsibilities)
  • Study and understand communications systems, components, and requirements.
  • Work with lab equipment, prototype hardware, and Matlab scripting.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary multi-national team of engineers.
  • Present results to technical internal and customer audiences.
  • Manage one or more technical projects.
What Is Required (Qualifications)
  • MSEE or PhD in RF engineering and 10+ years of experience.
  • Experience with RF lab equipment, measurement, troubleshooting, standards, and theory.
  • Firm understanding of Wi-Fi and 5G standards and typical transmit-side RF testing.
  • Proficiency with Matlab or a similar programming language.
  • Experience managing a technical project or program.

Technical understanding of the following:

  • Mobile and base-station cellular platforms.
  • RFIC and RF front-end design and tradeoffs.
  • RF power amplifier (PA) theory and practical design.
