Job Summary and Qualifications

As an Imaging Assistant, you would assist the technologists working all modalities within the Imaging Department, including: X-Ray, MRI, CT, Ultrasound, and Nuclear Medicine. You will prep and screen patients prior to imaging exam/procedure. 

Patient Care 

  1. The Radiology Technologist Assistant is competent in assisting with imaging exams. S/He assists with diagnostic exams, performs clerical duties including record keeping, and maintains high quality services. 

Analysis and Communication 

  1. Communicates effectively with patients/families and all care providers.  

  1. Interacts with staff and co-workers in a manner that promotes positive working relationships. 

  1. Checks the order for complete information and appropriateness criteria.  

  1. Schedules exams as needed.  

  1. Obtains sufficient information to determine whether the procedure should be performed immediately or within a specific time frame. 

  1. Adheres to established section and organizational protocols, QA guidelines, and regulatory requirements.  

  1. Assist with coordinating work assignments to ensure a smooth workflow. 

  1. The incumbent must resolve conflict and endure the pressures associated with a constantly changing work environment. 

Imaging Exams 

  1. The incumbent assists with exams on adults, geriatric patients, adolescents, and pediatric age groups and performs patient assessments within the scope of practice. 

  1. Sets up the imaging room to coincide with the examination being performed to include the use of proper isolations precautions when needed. 

  1. Verifies two patient identifiers.  

  1. Provide quality customer service, explains all studies to patient in a clear manner, and provide information and resources to patient and family.  

  1. Safely transfers patient to and from carts, beds and wheelchairs utilizing multiple lifting devices.  

  1. Positions the patient, ensuring patient comfort and modesty 

Responsibilities Supporting Patient Care 

  1. Exhibits caring attitude when relating to patients. 

  1. Engages in professional and ethical conduct.  

  1. Maintains a clean, orderly, well-stocked room.  

  1. Accurately records patient exams and follow proper billing procedures.  

  1. Rotate within departments and clinics for proper coverage.  

  1. Notifies appropriate staff when equipment malfunctions.  


What qualifications you will need:


  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • High School Graduate / GED
