Job description

Job Purpose
Hiring for a Product Engineer to join our Surface Team in Houston, TX! TechnipFMC brings together the creative expertise of top engineers, project managers, software developers, technicians, and more. We deliver the technologies that make it possible for our clients to deliver their projects. Together, we challenge conventions and create the solutions that will enhance the performance of the energy industry.
Job Description
  • Creates and reviews designs, drawings, DBI's (database information), specifications, etc. of existing technology or applications and ensures that assignments meet standards and performance requirements within area of expertise.
  • Uses the CAD/CAM and database systems and facilities to make layouts, analyze designs, evaluate equipment systems, and generate new equipment designs.
  • Prepares documentation, information, and communications such as ECN (Engineering Change Notices), DBI (Data Base Information) and engineering specifications and ensures conformance to all policies and procedures related to engineering functions, labor reporting and systems reporting.
  • Conducts analysis, ensures that designs are workable, makes recommendations and develops alternative solutions with conclusions reviewed by higher levels.
  • Consults with other departments on equipment designs, problems and questions.
  • Prepares technical data and papers for sales personnel, customers, and publications. Makes field trips with sales and service personnel with new products and technical applications.
  • Tests and evaluates prototypes and products to determine design limits and needed improvements. Prepares test reports and closure reports on engineering project assignments.

You are meant for this job if:
  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Two+ years of experience applying working principles within assigned technical field.
  • Working knowledge of specific process technologies, procedures, products, and applications.
  • Working knowledge of at least one TechnipFMC or related 6A/6D/17D wellhead / valve product line - exposure to other lines. Some knowledge of competitor products.
  • Demonstrated ability to create functional & cost-effective designs that meet specification requirements with supervision.
  • Demonstrates some capability for conceptualizing designs.
  • Some understanding of internal economic factors affecting projects to which assigned.
  • Must be proficient in use of CAD and Database systems related to Engineering functions.
