Job description

Job Description Summary:

We are seeking an outstanding individual to provide sales and technical support to our customers. Primary responsibilities will include servicing our customers within the region and supporting the regional business manager in development and implementation of company action plans. These responsibilities include providing sales support, technical support, customer service, and annual business planning for their particular region. This position will also work closely with other team members within the business units to develop and implement strategies to improve and/or maintain Aviagen's standing in the industry by attaining exceptional genetic potential of the Aviagen line of products.

Job Description:

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Establishing sales, service, and support goals for all assigned regional accounts.
  • Developing plans and deploying resources to implement agreed to sales and technical support strategies with customers within assigned area.
  • Identifying and tracking specific performance records and results for assigned accounts.
  • Work with technical specialist in support of customer needs.
  • Identify and develop relationships with key decision makers, as needed, to facilitate opportunities for sales, maintaining sales, and implementing technical support strategies within their customer base.
  • Maintain regular on-site customer visits and up to date customer visit reports.
  • Manage individual budget, including strategic agreed to entertaining.
  • Understand Aviagen technical management recommendations and work closely with all the business unit teams to implement best practices with our customers to attain Genetic Potential of the Aviagen products.
  • Represent Aviagen at selected industry associations, seminars, events and functions.
  • Significant travel required
  • Must reside within the assigned territory
  • Vehicle that meets company program requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following characteristics:

  • 5 years in experience in poultry production.
  • Bachelor of Science, or Bachelor of Arts.
  • Understanding of poultry technology and current best management practices in the following areas: Breeder Production, Broiler Production, Ventilation, and Processing.
  • Interpersonal skills including leadership, personal accountability, time management, conflict management, and good organizational skills.
  • Communication skills including the ability to present to any level of corporate management including Power Point, written communication, oral communication, negotiations, meeting skills, social skills, computer skills including e-mail, spreadsheets, use of computer database, formal letter writing and economic modeling.
