Duration: 6 months

To produce technical documentation for IT Operations, including system and swim lane diagrams, support and troubleshooting procedures as well as disaster recovery instructions and other relevant documents,

Responsibilities

3+ years' experience as a technical writer.

HP Tools experience desired, but not required.

Technical writer with broad range of IT projects including network management and performance monitoring, application/infrastructure development.

Skilled at writing clear procedures and giving documents a task-oriented focus.

Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understand of the systems and documentation requirements.

Provide technical writing services to the infrastructure groups to enhance Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and document other internal processes.

Assist in development of training materials for target user groups of client's System Management products and processes.

Assist in establishing process and procedures to assess and report active monitoring in their production and other targeted environments.

Develop and enhance technical documentation in support of client's infrastructure teams.

Develop technical training documentation for utilizing new Systems Management software products, processes and procedures.

Work with technical and operations team to document monitoring processes.

Analyzed existing and potential content, focusing on resuse and single-sourcing opportunities.

Create and maintain the information architecture and standardization.

Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.

Write easy to understand user interface text, on line help, procedures and operational guides.

Requirements

Proven working experience in technical writing, software and operational documentation.

Ability to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detail.

Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures.

Excellent written skills in English.

Communications skills, ability to work with others clarifying and defining ideas.

Software expertise with MS Word, WordPerfect, Excel, Office, PowerPoint, Visio Adobe Acrobat, and SharePoint.

Basic familiarity with the SDLC and software development; computer operations; and project management.

University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferred.
