Your role
Are you our next Technical Site Lead?
Atlas Copco is seeking a hands-on, technically skilled, and relationship-driven Technical Site Lead to serve as the primary technical resource and onsite Atlas Copco representative supporting the customer's fastening and assembly systems. This role is responsible for delivering technical expertise, ensuring operational reliability, and serving as the trusted advisor for the customer's manufacturing operations.
You will provide advanced troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, calibration support, strategy optimization, quality investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives to maximize system performance and production uptime. This is a hands-on technical leadership role with no direct people management responsibilities. The successful candidate will work closely with customer production, engineering, maintenance, and quality teams while ensuring Atlas Copco consistently delivers exceptional technical support and fulfills contractual service commitments.
How You'll Make an Impact:
Technical Leadership & Manufacturing Support (Approximately 80%)
  • Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, communication, programming, and process-related issues.
  • Lead root cause investigations for production downtime, quality concerns, recurring failures, and process deviations.
  • Provide rapid technical support to minimize production interruptions and improve equipment reliability.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions that improve system performance and reduce downtime.
  • Review, validate, optimize, and troubleshoot tightening programs and production settings.
  • Support new equipment installations, software upgrades, process improvements, and manufacturing changes.
  • Collaborate with customer engineering, controls, quality, and maintenance teams to improve manufacturing performance.
  • Generate technical reports and recommendations based on production and quality data.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, calibrations, inspections, and system validations to ensure compliance with customer quality standards.
  • Maintain technical documentation, calibration records, and compliance documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve tooling reliability, manufacturing efficiency, and first-time quality.
  • Develop technical documentation, work instructions, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Provide technical coaching and knowledge sharing to customer personnel and Atlas Copco resources.
  • Serve as the primary technical escalation point for complex customer issues.

Customer Relationship & Service Delivery (Approximately 20%)
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through technical expertise, responsiveness, and professional communication.
  • Lead technical discussions, customer reviews, and site performance meetings.
  • Communicate technical findings, recommendations, and improvement opportunities to customer stakeholders.
  • Ensure contractual obligations, service level agreements, and customer expectations are consistently achieved.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, preventative maintenance completion, response times, and operational performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all customer safety, quality, and operational requirements.
  • Assist with planning and coordinating onsite technical service activities.

To succeed, you will need
Technical & Mechanical Proficiency:
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in industrial equipment, tools, or production systems
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance and calibrations
  • Comfort working with technical systems, configurations, and diagnostics
  • Familiarity with data systems and production databases

Industry Knowledge:
  • Background in manufacturing, industrial services, automation, or production environments
  • Experience supporting operational or production-critical systems

Soft Skills:
  • Highly self-sufficient and comfortable working independently on-site
  • Strong customer-facing communication and relationship management skills
  • Service-oriented mindset with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, actionable communication for non-technical stakeholders

Education:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, IT, or a related technical field preferred (or equivalent hands-on experience)
