We are seeking a Materials & Process Test Engineer to support product validation, failure analysis, materials engineering, and process improvement initiatives. This role focuses on evaluating parts, materials, manufacturing processes, and test methods through research, laboratory testing, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement to ensure product safety, reliability, quality, and compliance with engineering specifications.
Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate parts, materials, manufacturing processes, technologies, and equipment through research and testing to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with engineering requirements and specifications.
  • Perform failure analysis on components, materials, and manufacturing processes to identify root causes and implement corrective actions that reduce or eliminate recurring failures.
  • Develop and execute test plans, document test procedures, analyze results, and provide technical recommendations.
  • Identify, categorize, and document product and process failures while maintaining detailed engineering records.
  • Propose, develop, validate, and implement revisions to engineering procedures, specifications, and manufacturing processes.
  • Assess the suitability of parts, materials, and manufacturing processes for production and product applications.
  • Coordinate technical issue resolution with suppliers, customers, and cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by designing, developing, fabricating, testing, evaluating, and implementing new products, materials, processes, and technologies.
  • Provide technical expertise and engineering consultation to internal and external customers.

Qualifications:
  • Associate degree (Technical AA) in Engineering Technology, Materials Science, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • Typically 3+ years of related engineering, laboratory, manufacturing, quality, or materials experience; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered (e.g., Bachelor's degree with 1+ year of experience or 5+ years of related experience).
  • Experience supporting materials evaluation, product testing, failure analysis, or manufacturing process validation.
  • Ability to develop test plans, analyze engineering data, identify root causes, and prepare technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with engineering specifications, testing methodologies, and quality standards.
  • Proficiency using computers and standard business software applications.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or industrial engineering environments.
  • Knowledge of materials engineering, product reliability, quality engineering, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience working with suppliers and customers to resolve technical or manufacturing issues.
