TITLE:ย Technology Support Specialist
SERVICE RANGE:ย District-Level PK-12
SALARY RANGE: $47,500 - $51,500 based on Education and Experience

BASIC FUNCTION:
The Technology Support Specialist will be a 12 month "at will" employee and reports to the District Technology Director. The primary function of this position is to assist with network, hardware, system administration and support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical support to users and maintenance to various instructional hardware and software applications.
- Map, run and terminate network, sound and security system wiring
- Install, maintain, and repair computer equipment and peripherals (printers, document cameras, etc.)
- Maintain asset records, update inventory and service databases
- Troubleshoot Chromebook issues and repair improperly functioning devices
- Manage large groups of Windows-based computer systems
- Manage and install server based IP Security Cameras
- Provide a functional end-user experience
- Assist the department in network monitoring and alerting systems
- Troubleshoot any problems such as slow performance or network outages
- Assist the department in creating or modifying user access accounts to the network
- Maintain current hardware and software inventories and media
- Assist with ticketing system response and completions
- Suggest long-term strategies to improve service, increase response time, prevent issues, and reduce requests
- Help end users understand problem causes and remediation steps when applicable
- Research new technologies and offer suggestions to the Systems Administrator and Director of Technology
- Keep technology and cybersecurity knowledge and skills current
- Assist with recording and live streaming two monthly school board meetings and Prom Grand March
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology
Must be highly organized and have effective people skills. Must be able to work well with others in a fast paced educational environment. Lifting capacity of 50 pounds of overhead weight.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred
- Bachelors of Science Degree in a computer-related field and/or a minimum of three (3) years experience
Acceptable
- Associates Degree or years of experience
Preferred Knowledge
- Computer repair and troubleshooting
- Asset management, network management, network monitoring, account directoryย management, database management, virtual servers, remote viewing/control software,ย door access control, general cybersecurity, VOIP phone management, student information systems
- Familiarity with Chromebooks, ChromeOS, Google Suite, SMART products andย software, Microsoft Office
- Additional certifications considered a plus
