Job Summary
The Technical Security Systems Specialist is responsible for configuring, programming, testing, and validating security system components to ensure they are fully prepared for customer deployment. This role supports the delivery of high-quality security solutions by programming and verifying cameras, network switches, wireless communication devices, and workstations while maintaining rigorous quality standards and accurate documentation. In partnership with Production, Installation, Technical Assistance Group (TAG), and Research & Development (R&D), the Technical Security Systems Specialist helps ensure projects are executed efficiently, technical issues are resolved promptly, and systems are delivered accurately and on schedule.
This position is ideal for an individual with excellent problem-solving skills who brings experience with IP-based security systems, camera programming, along with proficient troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail needed to interpret technical documentation and system specifications.
Working hours for this position are 9:00am-5:00pm EDT.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Configure, program, test, and validate customer security systems, including cameras, workstations, network switches, and wireless equipment, for deployment.
  • Review project documentation, customer requirements, and scopes of work to configure systems and prioritize assignments for production and installation timelines.
  • Perform quality checks and troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and configuration issues to ensure shipment readiness.
  • Collaborate with Installation, Production, TAG (Technical Assistance Group), Research & Development, Warehouse, and Procurement to coordinate projects, resolve technical issues, and ensure successful execution.
  • Provide technical support for programming and configuration issues during deployment and post-installation.
  • Maintain accurate programming, configuration, firmware, and technical documentation to support operational consistency and future service.
  • Participate in project planning, product development, engineering changes, and continuous improvement to enhance system quality and efficiency.
  • Maintain workplace safety and stay updated on emerging security technologies, firmware, networking, and industry standards.

Qualifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate technical information clearly.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, wiring diagrams, and system specifications with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Hourly Compensation Range: $27.00-$30.00. Compensation is determined based on competitive market data, experience, skillset and geographical location.
