Job description

Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for an Electrical Design Engineer opportunity to support the Savannah River Site.
Work Location: Aiken, SC
Electrical Design Engineer-
The Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for design changes affecting facility electrical systems, power distribution, equipment power supply, and associated support infrastructure.
Duties:
  • Prepare one-line diagrams, load calculations, equipment connection details, cable schedules, and electrical specifications.
  • Support design changes to distribution systems, motor feeders, lighting, grounding, UPS-supported systems, and equipment power.
  • Evaluate electrical impacts of new or modified process and facility equipment.
  • Coordinate with I&C, mechanical, HVAC, and fire protection disciplines on integrated design changes.
  • Support installation, testing, field verification, and as-built updates.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in electrical design for industrial facilities.
  • Knowledge of power distribution and equipment interface design.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with facility upgrades, equipment power modifications, and electrical support for process facilities.
  • Familiarity with backup power or UPS-supported system.

Other Job Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.
