Job description

Painting Plus is seeking a motivated, organized, and customer-focused **Residential Painting Sales & Project Manager** to help grow and manage our residential painting division. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building relationships with homeowners, closing profitable work, and ensuring each project is completed with excellent quality and service.
This position is approximately **60% sales and 40% project management** and reports directly to the **Director of Residential Painting Services**. The ideal candidate combines strong in-home sales ability with the practical judgment and follow-through needed to manage residential painting projects from the initial appointment through final completion and payment.
What You’ll Do
Sales — Approximately 60%
- Meet with homeowners at scheduled appointments to evaluate their painting needs.
- Build trust, explain Painting Plus services, and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Measure and accurately estimate interior and exterior residential painting projects.
- Prepare and present clear, professional proposals.
- Consistently follow up on open estimates and maintain an active sales pipeline.
- Close profitable work while meeting company sales and gross-margin goals.
- Maintain accurate customer, proposal, follow-up, and sales information in the company CRM.
- Develop referral relationships and identify opportunities for repeat business.
- Represent Painting Plus professionally in customers’ homes and throughout the community.
Project Management — Approximately 40%
- Transition sold projects smoothly from sales into production.
- Confirm project scope, colors, products, schedules, access requirements, and customer expectations before work begins.
- Coordinate with field personnel, subcontractors, suppliers, and the Director of Residential Painting Services.
- Conduct project start-ups, progress checks, and final walkthroughs as needed.
- Monitor production, job quality, schedules, labor performance, materials, and project profitability.
- Communicate proactively with homeowners throughout the project.
- Identify and document additional work and prepare change orders when required.
- Resolve customer or field issues quickly and professionally.
- Ensure punch-list work is completed and assist with final approval, collection, and closeout.
- Help maintain a strong customer experience and generate positive reviews and referrals.

What We’re Looking For
- Proven success in residential painting, home-improvement, remodeling, roofing, windows, flooring, or other in-home sales is strongly preferred.
- Experience managing residential construction, painting, or home-service projects is preferred.
- Strong sales, relationship-building, presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.
- Ability to understand project scope, measurements, production requirements, and job costs.
- Excellent organization, follow-up, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable balancing sales appointments, customer communication, and active projects.
- Able to work independently while collaborating closely with field and office teams.
- Professional appearance and a customer-first attitude.
- Comfortable using estimating software, CRM systems, email, and mobile applications.
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
