Job description

Position Summary
We are seeking a technically proficient and customer-facing Technical SalesEngineer to bridge the gap between our advanced surface treatment technologies and client needs. In this role, you will leverage your materials science or mechanical engineering background to respond to complex RFQs, drive new product development projects, interpret blueprints, and support business growth through targeted technical consultations and occasional trade show representation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Master the technical aspects of our proprietary surface treatment processes-including DLC coatings, PVD coatings, and ion plasma nitriding-to effectively communicate solutions to customers and solve novel technical challenges.
  • Review and respond to customer requests for quotes (RFQs) and incoming technical inquiries.
  • Utilize 3D modeling software to design custom part drawings and specialized fixtures for customer applications.
  • Partner with the engineering team to manage new application and product development projects.
  • Assist process engineers with technical contract reviews upon the arrival of incoming client parts.
  • Coordinate with the Plant Manager to successfully implement and schedule new customer accounts into production.
  • Read, interpret, and generate blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and analytical reports.
  • Represent the company at industry trade shows and conferences.
  • Support business development initiatives by engaging with website inquiries, referrals, and targeted marketing campaigns.
  • Deliver accurate reports and operational forecasts for leadership.
  • Comply strictly with AS9100/ISO 9001 quality standards, internal protocols, and OSHA safety regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident (Green Card) required. Visa sponsorship is not available.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering (strongly preferred), or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of professional industrial or manufacturing experience.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong foundation in materials science principles, surface treatments, and characterization methods (PVD/DLC coatings, heat treatment, nitriding, thermal diffusion, and carburizing).
  • Software & Design: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; experience with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling software is preferred.
  • Soft Skills & Travel: Exceptional verbal, written, and organizational skills with proven leadership capabilities. Ability to travel up to 20% of the time for client visits and trade shows.
